“Chair of Nottinghamshire Mind since 2018. My link with Mind began as a volunteer before becoming a trustee. The opportunity to make a difference and advance opportunity in peoples lives drives me and continues the passion I had as a senior leader in schools wanting to affect real change. Working in challenging schools was so rewarding when success came. I have enjoyed being part of the creation and rapid expansion of Nottinghamshire Mind and supporting the first rate management team. I look forward to even more progress and wider provision in diverse and inclusive settings. i enjoy travel reading theatre and fully appreciate the mental health benefits of exercise as a regular gym goer cyclist and walker.”

“Trained as a classical pianist and based in rural Kent, during the 1960s and 70s Derek became part of the growing early-music movement. While continuing as a performer, he established a workshop making harpsichords, clavichords and copies of 18th century pianos. Offered a studio by the Harley Foundation, an arts-educational charity at Welbeck, Derek moved to Nottinghamshire in 1982, eventually becoming involved in the administration of the charity, and the development of new studios and the Harley Gallery. Through organising historical displays at the latter, he became curator of Welbeck’s art collections. Now fully occupied in retirement, Derek is particularly aware of the value of art and artistic expression in supporting mental health.”

I joined the board of Trustees in December 2020. A Managing Director by profession of a multifaceted venue including two 18 hole golf courses, boutique hotel and extensive facilities including wedding portfolio. I have a wealth of experience at a senior level in business strategy, commercial growth, governance compliance, event and people management from her progressive career spanning over 20 years within the sport, leisure, event and hospitality industry.

I have been an advocate in terms of supporting mental health issues for a number of years and became first affiliated to Nottinghamshire Mind when her and a close colleague embarked on a number of fundraising activities throughout the Covid-19 pandemic supporting her own organisations desire to support mental health and the wellbeing of their members.

Following the initial affiliation to Nottinghamshire Mind aligned to the fundraising activity, I expressed my motivation to commit to make a longer term contribution to Nottinghamshire Mind hence becoming a trustee.
