About the Mind Walk
The Mind Walk is not a physical fitness challenge, it’s about taking the fight for mental health out in the open. To raise awareness and to raise funds so we can keep fighting for support and respect for all of us with mental health problems.
Walk up to 10km on a route of your choice. Fly the flag for mental health your own way – walk on your own or with family, take in the sunrise or sunset or meet up with friends halfway for a midday picnic.
Choose a walking distance that feels achievable and suits your walking ability. We suggest you plan for no more than 10km. Post photos of your walk on social media and show people how proud you are to be part of the fight for mental health.
Every donation you ask for could be a conversation about mental health. Talking about the Mind Walk and why you are taking part could be the cue someone needs to seek information or support for themselves or a loved one.
Every conversation, every donation supports the cause and helps keep us here – on the other end of the phone, in your local community and fighting nationally for better services and support.
How we’ll support you
Everyone who registers will be sent a digital guide to the Mind Walk, which will have fundraising advice to help you raise money to make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
We’ll send you a flag where you can write your reason for taking part, to fly high while you walk.
We know finding the words to ask for support can be tricky, so we have templates to help you talk about mental health and ask for donations. You can share your tips and experiences with the Mind Walk community in a Facebook group exclusive to the Mind Walk.
If you raise £100, we will send you a multiuse bandana to wear proudly after the event.
You can send us an email using firstname.lastname@example.org , or give us a call on 0800 470 0203 and we’ll be more than happy to help.
