Not everyone wants to do a skydive or sit in a bath of baked beans (though if you do, we’re not stopping you!) so here are some other (less beany) suggestions…
Personal sports/exercise challenges – ask supporters to sponsor your challenge eg walking/running/cycling/swimming/Zumba/dancing/number of press-ups, skips, sit ups etc.
Team/group sports/exercise – hold an event/competition and donate a proportion of the ticket price/participation cost eg football/rugby/netball match, Zumbathon/yogathon, athletics/swimming/fishing/golf/archery/bowling/darts etc. competition
Non-sport personal/group challenges – whatever your skill, make it into a challenge! Eg barbers – number of haircuts/shaves, bakers – tallest pancake stack/number of cupcakes iced, gardeners – tallest sunflower/biggest vegetable grown. Ask supporters to sponsor your challenge.
Crafts – hold a crafting class/group session and donate the participation cost. Sell handmade crafts and donate a proportion of the selling price.
Bake Off competition – donate the entrance fee and/or judges fee. Goods are sold and funds donated.
Bake sale/coffee morning
Events – eg casino night, karaoke/lip sync battle, race night, bingo, quiz, disco, talent show. Donate the entry/ticket price.
Businesses – donate a proportion of the selling price of particular goods or services. Have one of our collection containers in your premises.
Raffles/tombolas – ask businesses for donations. National retailers (especially supermarkets) often have “charity/community champions” in each branch. Local businesses may be able to donate goods or a voucher for their service.
